Dear fellow interpreters,

I got an assignment from an interpreting agency some days ago. It involves the Department of Industrial Relations/Division of Labor Standards Enforcement/San Diego. The language is Arabic and the mode of interpreting would mostly be consecutive.

It is a conference type session faciliated by a Deputy Labor Commisioner. I have not done such type of project before. Has anyone of you done such interpreting work? What does it involve? What to expect? How to be prepared for such an assignment? Are there any written/video material to benefit from?

I don't want to go unprepared.

Your feedback and help are much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
