Off topic: Help with interpreting training in Chicago
Thread poster: Alexandra Réquiz
I'm a Venezuelan studing translation and interpretation. I'm spending the summer in Chicago and I have been looking for some kind of training in interpretation, but I haven't been able to find any. It could be either english-french or english-spanish. I would really appreciated if anyone could give a hand.
Thank you very much.

Here's one program in Chicago:
Cross-Cultural Interpreting Services
4753 N. Broadway, Suite 400
Chicago, IL 60640

I once considered their training sessions but in the end decided to do something else, closer to where I live. Maybe this would work for you if you need formal training.
However, if you are looking to practice your interpreting skills you could get in touch with any of the community centers working with immigrants. They are almost always in need of volunteer translators (this is how I started interpreting, just helping out).
Best of luck,

I'll take both of your ideas into consideration. I already wrote to them so they can send me an updated schedule.
