Esiste un software per elaborare testi PDF oltre ad ACROBAT?

Vorrei sapere se qualcuno conosce un programma tipo Acrobat writer che però sia gratuito o che almeno abbia un costo decisamente inferiore.
Dovrei apportare delle modifiche su testi in formato PDF....qualcuno ha già fatto delle ricerche in merito?
