I'm thinking at the use of HTML for filling comments and explanations in Kudoz. In doing so, we can highlight or underline some parts of texts using the tags [B] and [U], for instance. We can implement any change and edition possible in HTML, as reduce or amplify text size.

What do you think about that?

I agree with this suggestion.

Also I think the "quote" option also necessary for the expressions taken from different sources.

Great idea Jan 7, 2009

I think it would be a great idea to use html tags in kudoz.
Or perhaps BBCode tags, as in forums.
Laureana

Problem with HTML after adding a note Jan 17, 2009

Hello

This is a great idea even if I have started to use them a bit too much!

However, I have found that the tags stop working after I have added a note to an answer. For example, see my entry in:

Hello

This is a great idea even if I have started to use them a bit too much!

However, I have found that the tags stop working after I have added a note to an answer. For example, see my entry in:

http://www.proz.com/kudoz/english_to_french/electronics_elect_eng/3033859-movie_sense.html

When I first wrote the answer, the codes were correctly applied. But as soon as I added a note, the codes stopped working in the answer; and each time I added a note, the codes stopped working in the previous note. So the codes are now only applied in the final note!

In my original answer and the previous notes I wrote, I now see i and /i and b and /b which make my answer seem rather garbled!

Thanks again - and thanks in advance

The same as Simon Jan 18, 2009

Me too, I added html tags to the reference comments I made, I was very satisfied with the preview, but they don't work on the actual comment, as they appear just as word

Hmmm it works fine in the forum, but in Kudoz it is not like that!

Hi yx37029 and Eleni,

Thanks for pointing these issues out, both should now be fixed.

Please let me know if you have any more problems.

Thanks for your patience!

Welcome, Colin.

May be later we can add an icon to have a more graphical page in proz. This is, a "B" button for bold letters, an "I" button for Italic letters, a "U" button for underlined texts.

Thank you very much!

Slightly off-topic, but you can find it useful Jan 20, 2009

Text Formatting Toolbar for Firefox provides a convenient way to insert HTML tags, BBI Codes and Wiki formatting. Inter alia, this posting has been formatted with that toolbar

It does not work for the askers Jul 8, 2009

Dear Colin,
As far as I see the codes were implemented only for the answerers.
Was it intentional or just an omission ?

I think this feature most of all necessary for the askers so that they may underline, highlight or bold the part of the question they ask.
