I sometimes use the "Contribute to this entry" feature to show my disagreement with Kudoz glossary entries that are clearly wrong. In many cases, other colleagues have shown their disagreement and the entry bears two or more disagreements.

If you do a search for a term in this situation in the Kudoz glossaries, you see the wrong term, and no indication whatsoever is given that colleagues have specifically disagreed and for what reasons. Upon revisiting the question the glossary entry derives from, no indication is given either about the disagreements or other comments about the glossary entry.

So now I wonder: What's the use of the "Contribute to this entry" function if specific, clear disagreements are never seen or reported about glossary entries?

I hereby suggest that the agreements/disagreements reported using this feature are visible in the question and in glossary searches!! Otherwise people in a rush will no doubt use the wrong translation seen in the glossary and will propagate clear mistakes.

Very good suggestion May 4, 2009

Hi Tomás,

That's a very good suggestion well worth implementing, which is why I've just notified staff to this thread by way of a support ticket.

Steffen

As a user of and contributor to the Glossary I think this is vital.

I second that May 4, 2009

I have sometime used this feature (mostly misspellings, which I reckon are a minor problem), but have noticed this is pointless, since it is not visible. Hence, I gave up.
Giving the feature more visibility could result in more people taking care of the glossary, and hopefully a better glossary too.
Chiara

Indeed! I definitely think it would improve the glossary, or at least it would not put other people at risk of using incorrect terms entered to the glossary.

New feature not yet implemented? Jun 29, 2009

Unless I'm doing something wrong, it seems to me the new (potentially very useful) feature proposed by Tomás has not been implemented yet. Can somebody from staff shed some light on this? Thanks!

Monica

Suggestion has not been implemented yet, but it will be in the short run Jul 24, 2009

Hi all,

I would like to apologize for not having replied any sooner to Monica's last post. Tomás' suggestion has not been implemented yet. I will make sure that it is in the short run.

I will post back to let you know as soon as this feature is available.

I appreciate your patience.
