Hi all,

As you know, it accidentally happens a lot to have two or more similar answers posted at the same time or after a short while or a few minutes. However, I have noticed many examples where a similar answer or an answer that is already posted in the explanation/ added notes of an answer, not in the field of target term, is posted again by another colleague after a long while and some times after hours.

In the first case, some colleagues do not give attention to the early answer and give agrees to the late one. In the second case, some colleagues do not notice that the answer is already there at the added note or explanation of the old answer and gives it agrees squashing the right of the first answerer especially in case of lazy asker who do not take the burden of bearing time factor in mind and other factors to select a helpful answer.

Is there any rule to delete similar late answers? If not, why not think about it especially some other colleague websites have such a rule?

Regards,

Saleh

There is no such rule Dec 3, 2013

Hi Saleh,

There is not rule against later answers containing a term already provided. A kudoZ answer can (and should) also include references and explanations. There are hardly two identical questions, and the askers should select the answer they found most useful.

Please check this FAQ.

Regards,
Enrique

Thanks Enrique for your kind reply! The link was informative and kind of convincing, yet only in certain cases.

The provided answer in FAQ does not tackle the possibility of two identical answers without any further explanation or references after a long interval.

It also does not tackle the situation when the second answer is already posted in the explanation and notes of a previous answer. Such a case happens a lot reflecting careless of the answerer to carefully review the previous answers and rate them.

Thanks Saleh,

In any case there are no rules for deleting answers for that reason.

The main purpose of KudoZ is helping the asker, and deleting late answers would not contribute to that.

Deleting answers and questions should be done sparingly, mostly when in presence of clear errors or abuse.

Regards,
Enrique
