I recently gave points to a Kudoz answer which was not the best solution. After reasearching a little bit more, and with the help of some comments from another participant, I realized that I should have chosen another one. I was wondering whether it is possible to re-grade the question again and give the points to the person who helped me find the right answer for the term.

Hi,
Yes, it is possible to un-grade a question, provided that both asker and answerer agree. Please contact the moderator of your language pair. If the answerer, whose answer has been chosen, agrees, a moderator can un-grade a closed question. After that you can re-grade and close the question.
