Who has the right to reclassify as Pro/non-Pro?

There are still many questions that are being incorrectly classified. There is the option to vote Pro/non-Pro, but this option is often neglected even when it is clear that the question has been incorrectly classified. Often a question gets only one or two votes for reclassification, especially in languages that have fewer "viewers" (Danish, Norwegian, etc.).

In view of the number of incorrectly classified questions, I feel that fewer votes should be required for reclassification, or all members with a certain number of KudoZ points should be given the right to reclassify questions.

Maybe this will help Sep 29, 2005

Hi Michele,

I expect that many people who have enough points to reclassify questions just have not applied for the "right". Please see the following, they may help:

P.S. I can't remember now where I found the link to apply to have the right to squash and reclassify. Does anyone know where it is?

Thanks, Nikki.

I have read the "How-to" article and the forum posts, but I don't know how I am supposed to go about applying for this "right".

Criteria Sep 29, 2005

I just tried the link provided by Anabel and I got the following message:
You do not appear to be authorized to access this page

What are the criteria?

I have read the HowTo according to which I do seem to qualify.

Thank you for the link, Anabel! I tried to access the page, but I received the message "You do not appear to be authorized to access this page". I guess there are also other conditions to fulfill in addition to having more than 500 KudoZ points.

Strange! Sep 29, 2005

True, it doesn't work anymoreicon_frown.gif

I guess the only think left to do now is to wait until some moderator gives us a hand... which will no doubt happen soonicon_wink.gif

Invitation only, for the time being Sep 29, 2005

For the time being, due to mistaken use (or misuse), it was decided to make the application system accessible by invitation only. In other words, a moderator who knows you would have to invite you to apply in order for you to be able to do so.

We intend to modify the application procedure / criteria in the future, and will no longer require a moderator invitation at that time. But for now, we are not bringing in many new editors. (Moderators can invite at any time, but none appear to be doing so actively right now.)

Sorry for the confusion!

Invitations sent to you.

Anabel, you passed the test on June 20, the results were approved, so KudoZ editing rights were already granted to you.
Isn't the 'Edit" button visible to you in KudoZ pages?

Yes, I can edit! Sep 29, 2005

Thanks, Natalie, yes, I can editicon_smile.gif

I took the test and, because at that time it was very difficult to find the link to take the test, I posted a forum thread and got the link. I didn't know it didn't work anymore, so I posted thinking I would help Mihai!

Now I see that I'm one of the lucky few editorsicon_wink.gif
