When I opened my computer this morning, around two dozen KudoZ questions downloaded to my Proz folder in Outlook Express, instead of the usual 2 or 3. All of these are listed in language pairs that I do not work in. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Ps. I have not downloaded KudoZNet yet.

Yes Dec 3, 2002

When I checked my mail I received two questions for combinations I don\'t work in and I haven\'t downloaded Kudoz.net either - I\'ve got a Mac, so I can\'t use it even if I wanted toicon_frown.gif I\'ve no idea why I received these questions either.

Yep... Dec 3, 2002

I get more frequent Kudoz questions in my language pairs... usually waaaay too late and long after the questions have been graded. But I had about 20 questions in my inbox about translations in language pairs that weren\'t mine... all from KudoZ.NET

I share your pain

I guess we just need to be patient. Patience pays.

Questions I did not want to ask Dec 3, 2002

I downloaded KudoZ.net to see how it works and tried to see if the glossary would come up with some answers.

Well, the question went straight to the translators and was shown on proZ without me being alerted. I still would not know that this had happened if one of the members had not written to me asking why I was asking such an easy question and why his contribution had disappeared....

A bit confusing, all this.

Ditto Dec 3, 2002

I also received a lot of kudoz mail for language pairs I don\'t work in. I have downloaded and tried kudoz.net (with mixed results) and I assume a lot of this has to do with teething troubles associated with kudoz.net. If the only problems are receiving a few extra emails for wrong language pairs, then that\'s fine (as long as it eventually gets fixed) but it would be a disaster if this were to lead to an outage of kudoz or other parts of the site.

Same here! Dec 3, 2002

So annoying!! icon_frown.gif

And I haven\'t installed Kudoz.NET!

I guess I have to opt out from the e-mail notification of Kudoz questions until something is done to correct this...

same with me - see another string in "Bugs" Dec 3, 2002

Daisuke, who has this problem too, opened a string in \"Bugs\" entitled \"Receiving KudoZ notifications in unwanted language pairs\". He doesn\'t say if he has installed KudoZ.NET himself or not. I posted a reply there and am repeating a shortened version of it here.

I have received notification of both the questions mentioned by Daisuke, though they are not in my language pair either and also one English-Spanish one (I only ask to be notified of Russian-English questions). The English-Portuguese and English-Spanish questions have both been suppressed, reasons given as \"testing\" and \"testing KudoZ.net\". The French-Spanish one is currently still there and carries the banner: \"New! This question came from the KudoZ,NET tool. Click here to download your own\".

So I\'m not sure if this is a ProZ site bug or a KudoZ.NET bug.

Meanwhile, there are three Russian-English questions on file of which I have NOT been notified - 320067, 320104 and 320110.
