Two days conference organized by Nana Sato-Rossberg, Paul Dumouchel and Kozo Watanabe from Ritsumeikan University, Graduate School for Core Ethics and Frontier Sciences In collaboration with the Global COE Ars Vivendi: Forms of Human Life and Survival, on the 9th and 10th January 2010.

This sounds like a very interesting event, so interesting thqt it makes me feel like going back to Japan right away.

There will be presentations by International scholars about literary and audiovisual translating, but not only.

Even though the title doesn't mention it, there will also be a couple of presentation about interpreting. Namiko Iida, in particular, will be talking about community interpreting in Japan. I would love to hear what she has to say, as community interpreting is still very rare in Japan, at least compared to countries like Australia.
