I was told by a colleague that this wvent would take place in Orlando this coming May. I am an ES_EN, EN_ES interpreter and translator, so it would apply to me, but woul it be useful for me to go? Moreover, is it worth investing in it?

here is a link to the preliminary program

Also, any thoughts on ATA? Would it also be worth investing in becoming a member?

Any input would be most appreciated!

ATA Mid Year Conference in Orlando Feb 15, 2012

The Spanish and Interpreting Division conference will take place in Orlando on March 16th-18th, not in May.

If I were in your shoes, I'd rather attend the annual ATA conference on October 24th, which will take place in San Diego, CA. See here:

In my opinion, the annual conference would be a better investment in terms of making a trip if you do not live in the United States.

You must be a member to attend any ATA conference.

The emphasis in interpreting is not no be found in other ATA events. Feb 15, 2012

Dear Gerardo,

This event promises to be an excellent activity for translators who are also interpreters, especially for those whose working language pairs involve Spanish. The emphasis in interpreting is not no be found in other ATA events. You do not need to be a member to attend.

I believe that ATA membership is a very valuable investment. Please check this link,
