Greetings translators,

The University of Houston-Victoria School of Arts & Sciences and Dalkey Archive Press are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for a credit-bearing Certificate in Applied Literary Translation. The credits conferred by the certificate program can also be counted toward the completion of either an MFA or MS degree from the UHV School of Arts & Sciences.

The certificate is offered in conjunction with UHV’s master’s degree programs in Creative Writing and Publishing, and is primarily conducted online, with the bulk of training taking place during weekly one-on-one Skype sessions. The program is designed for translators at an early stage in their career who will greatly benefit from working closely with an editor, as well as gaining experience in several areas of publishing and translation. The final project for the certificate program is a book-length translation that Dalkey Archive Press will publish.

The certificate is offered three times a year: Fall, Spring, and Summer. The first session will be offered in the upcoming Spring term, beginning on January 19, 2016. Subsequent sessions will begin in May and August of 2016. The deadline for applying to the upcoming session will be November 1, 2015.

For more information on the certificate program, including instructions for how to apply, see the “Call for Applications” and "Frequently Asked Questions" documents at the following address: http://www.dalkeyarchive.com/applied-literary-translation

For further questions and queries, please contact: translation@dalkeyarchive.com

Thank you.
