Le congrès en soi aura lieu samedi et dimanche, les 13 et 14 octobre 2007 à Montréal (le lieu d’emplacement sera confirmé très bientôt), alors que les journées entières du vendredi 12 octobre et du lundi 15 octobre seront consacrées aux séances de formation des outils TAO. Nous sommes également heureux de vous faire part des deux thèmes principaux du congrès, à savoir La traduction pharmaceutique et Traduire pour l’industrie cinématographique. Notre objectif est d’offrir un total de trois ou quatre séances de formation, dans chacun de ces sujets, qui soient susceptibles d’intéresser, à la fois, les traducteurs de grande expérience et les plus novices. À ces séances s’ajouteront d’autres activités d’intérêt général, comme des ateliers techniques (outils TAO), des groupes de discussion spécialisée, des groupes sur la gestion d’une entreprise, etc.
S’il y a des séances de formation que vous aimeriez proposer pour le congrès ou si vous êtes intéressé à diriger une séance de formation quelconque, veuillez communiquer avec les organisateurs par la voie du forum spécial consacré aux suggestions ou par courriel à [email protected].

We are delighted to announce that Lexi-tech International, Canada’s largest private translation company, has joined ProZ.com as one of the local organizers of this conference. The company has five offices across Canada, with large internal translation teams, and collaborates with hundreds of freelancers all over the world. They have been a corporate member of our community since 2006. We encourage you to visit the Blue Board, or their website at http://www.lexitech.ca , to find out more about Lexi-tech International.
The actual conference will take place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October 2007 in Montreal (venue to be confirmed very soon) while Friday 12 and Monday 15 October are reserved for two full-day CAT tool training sessions. We are also delighted to advise you of the two main conference themes, which are pharmaceutical translation and translating for the film industry. The aim is to offer a total of three to four sessions in each of these subjects that will be of interest to both experienced and less experienced translators. These sessions will be complemented by other activities of more general interest, such as technical workshops (e. g. CAT tools), focus groups, business matters, etc.

I have just checked the advised address, but it is still empty - nothing about program or prices. Also it would be nice to know what CATs will be covered by technical sessions and whether the organizers consider doing the hotel reservations for participants (with relevant pricing).
And, will it be primarily for English-French languages, or wider?

Hi Vladimir
The conference site is up as advised at http://www.proz.com/conference/11 but the program is still a work in progress. We're hoping to publish a preliminary program very soon and will open registration for the conference as soon as the contract with the conference venue has been finalised.
With regards to hotel rooms, we've negotiated a so-called room allocation with the conference venue so attendees can make their own arrangements for accommodation with the hotel at a preferential rate.
