Hi there, There only seem to be two powwows planned for the UK to celebrate Translator's Day during the last weekend in September. This seems a bit of a shame (there are six planned in France!). Would there be any interest in one in Nottingham? I'm new to the city but could help organise one (been to a few of the London powwows). What do you think?
Best regards, Sarah

I'd be interested I don't live in Nottingham but I have good friends there, so it would be a good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone

Sounds like a good idea.
I'm based in Shardlow, just down the A453.
Cheers,
Neil

Good to know there are some other translators in the area! Must be more people who could make it given the other options are London or Swindon!

I live in Dudley so Nottingham is only about an hour away! I've never been to a powwow but if you need any help with the organisation, I'll do my best!

I'm in Coventry so Nottingham isn't so far up the M1... depends on the exact day, though, as the actual weekend of 29-30 Sept is completely booked up for me.
Would be nice to meet some local-ish translators and may I put in a plug for the ITI West Midlands group - www.iti-wmg.org.uk .

As there's definitely some interest - and it really doesn't matter if there aren't crowds of us - I'll go ahead and propose a Nottingham powwow for Translator's Day. Any suggestions for a venue much appreciated. And if it's a success we can always turn it into a regular thing like the London Stammtisch.
PS. Rebecca, any help gratefully received. And thanks for the link Angela!
