épouvantable - it just sounds so right when used to describe the weather.
saucisson - so much better sounding than the dull English sausage. And they taste better too

I love these words because they sound so nice and they also have double meanings

Kruidjie-roer-my-nie - type of bush with very sensitive leaves. If you touch it, the leaves curl up and close. It can also be used for an overly sensitive person.

I love Anton Goosen's song by that name a lot.

"Jy's 'n bondeltjie liefde
As ons donkiekar ry
En die stadsliggies waai
Ver by ons verby"

"Jou oë is so mooi
En my hart is die prooi
My hart in die weegskaal
Reg in my kraal
My hart in die weegskaal
Reg in my kraal"

"Kruidjie-roer-my-nie
Is die naam wat jou vrinne jou noem
Maar kruidjie-roer-my-nooit-weer-nie
Is hoe ek voel as ek jou soen"

Ens.!
