Satisfyingly puerile ones Jun 8, 2013

The ones told in the school bus are the ones that cracked me up the most in my life:

The Great Wall of China Clean-up by Hu Flung Dung
[yes, I know the middle syllable isnʼt actually allowed by Chinese phonotactics …]

Size Matters by Ivor Biggan

Coup in Papua New Guinea by Jack Tuat … oh wait, that last one actually happened.

real life Jun 25

The name of the gynecologist for the birth of my first child was Dr. Nurse. It created no end of confusion when the clerk at another hospital was taking down my history and asked "Doctor?" and I answered "Nurse". When I expanded that to "Dr. Nurse" she was almost irate, "I know there was a doctor and a nurse. What was the doctor's name, please!"
