Very funny typo! Unfortunately, I tend to forget the typos I make or see quite fast, so I don't really have any inputs, except perhaps this one: My name is Pia, and on occasion, I accidently sign my name Pis (meaning pee) using the keyboard. This is not very fortunate, but luckily I usually notice it before sending the email.

In one of his novels, there was a newspaper that had the motto "The Truth will make you free". On two separate editions, it appeared "The Truth will make you fret" and "The Truth will make you fere". You sort of come out wondering what else the Truth can do
Elena Miguel Spain Local time: 11:39 English to Spanish + ... My two cents | Jul 29, 2005 |
Two typos I tend to write regularly are "gatos" instead of "gastos" and "putos" instead of "puntos" which leads to nice translations such as "gatos fijos" (fixed cats instead of fixed costs) and "los principales putos" (the three main fags [I'm afraid this may be slightly offensive for some readers] instead of the three main points".

Well, I have many, but the most usual in Spanish is: "dolores" (pains) instead of "dólares" (Dollars) Is it because I believe that money makes me suffer? Regards, Clarisa

I regularly type 'manger' instead of 'manager'. I think Freud would have a field day too. I am so paranoid about it now that I make a point of searching for 'manger' after I finish translating.

As I said in one of the other forums, my most deadly is the Untied States of America-that's one I definitely have to do a search for.

Thinking about it, it may be a typo with a hidden meaning. After all, when the babies we so lovingly breastfed become adoloscents and spend every waking second trying to show us that they are now in charge, beastfeeding may the right term after all.
Anabel Martínez Spain Local time: 11:39 Member (2005) English to Spanish + ... my most usual typo | Aug 1, 2005 |
