Hi Odette, Your story is really funny and relaxing my mind, nerves and muscles.:):):) As a part-time English teacher at a junior high school, I once witnessed one of my students continued the incomplete proverb I wrote on the blackboard: Kill two birds with . . . . . . two knives.

Thank you for posting these delightful phrases from children. I have two children of my own (13 and 14) and their use of language can be quite entertaining and enlightening. Never dismiss what a child has to say.....they say some "gems". Their spontaneity and lack of inhibition can be wonderful and generally speaking children are worth listening to. They are the future and we should treasure them. Thanks again for making me smile.

Thanks again for making me smile. Hi Liz, Well, you still have a few years to enjoy... And then come the grandchildren...I have six (already !) I was baptized 'Bômère' by the first one who could not pronounce 'grand-mère' (grandma) at the time. Then, I was introduced to the second one as ' Ta Bômère ' as the nickname had stuck and became, guess what ? 'Tabômère' Now, I am expecting one will some day come out with 'My Tabomère' (My Yourgrandma) as the Québecois sometime use Ma mmatante (my myaunt)... Have a good day Ode
