just guessing Feb 28, 2009

I don't speak any of these, but to me, 1) looks like Italian and 2) like portuguese. Let's wait if more authoritative colleagues can confirm (or refute)...

n. 1 is definitely Italian, but be aware that it is not Cominica, but Comincia

typo in Portuguese too Feb 28, 2009

2) Portuguese. Apart from not making much sense, it is "Ásia" (Asia) and not "Azia".

translation Feb 28, 2009

Hello,
The first one is in Italian:
1) La Vera Esperienza Asiatica Comincia Qui
(Is this italian?)
The meaning is: the real Asiatic experience begins here.

2) Inspirando, a costura da Azia. Inflamando a paixão nova

This one is in Portuguese, but unfortunately, I can't tanslate this, since I don't speak this language:-(

Thank you, Jurate... Feb 28, 2009

... for English translation of the Italian phrase. No problem if you cannot translate from Portuguese, because actually all I needed was to identify the languages only, nothing more.

Sincere regards,
Maya

Another language identifier Mar 1, 2009

They say this one identifies 260 languages:
http://www.lextek.com/langid/

They also say the free application may be downloade from:
http://www.languageidentifier.com/
... but the URL seems to be down.

I have it, the installer is 2 MB. Send me an e-mail if you can't get it.

Thank you very much, José! Mar 2, 2009

The Lextek Language Identifier seems very helpful.

Yes, the second URL seems to be down, but actually the online tools are quite satisfactory to me at that moment. However, if some day I need the software and I find this link still down, I will definitely ask you to send me the installation file. I already have recorded your offer in my notebookicon_wink.gif

Best regards,
Maya

Translations Mar 7, 2009

The translation of the phrases are:

1. La vera Esperienza Asiatica Comincia Qui (Italian) - The true Asian experience starts here.

2. Inspirando, a costura da Ásia. Inflamando a paixão nova (Portuguese)- Inspiring, Asian sewing. Igniting a new passion. ("sewing" sounds strange here, possibly it is used in the sense of having a quick look around, like we say here in Brazil "costurar o trânsito" which means to weave in and out of traffic.

In the form as originally presented: azia = sour stomach.

So "costura da azia" could mean "stitching up a sour stomach" - or is this a bit too far-fetched?
