Hi everybody

I want to compile a short list of genuine spelling traps for PROFESSIONAL translators and writers in English (i.e., not the typical ones recieve*, difference between effect and affect, etc). I haven\'t found anything at the professional level on the Internet (yet).

These are the ones I have come across:

accommodate

inoculate

supersede

desiccate

privilege

Can you add more? I can forward a list once completed to anyone who\'s interested.

Thanks in advance!

MORE:

imminent

anaesthesia

abscess

allotted

battalion

cirrhosis

embarrass

idiosyncrasy

I\'ve boomarked some of these sites a long time ago. Here are some of them:

http://www.mauigateway.com/~donjusko/finalsp.htm

http://www.glencoe.com/sec/writerschoice/sp/mslessons/grade8/index.shtml

(a discourse on how to pronounce English words and be right 85% of the time):

And I recommend the ff site to everyone:

(Once you subscribe, you get one word a day in your inbox. Fun way to learn new words. Just learned a new word today: adscititious)
