The Canadian CBC Radio program Writers and Company is currently running a 4-part series called "Mexico Unmasked," of interviews with Mexican writers and film makers. Currently as I write this, and for 4 more weeks, the podcasts of these interviews are available for downloading at http://www.cbc.ca/podcasting/index.html?arts#writersandcompany. The audio files will be available for listening for a longer period at http://www.cbc.ca/writersandcompany/audio.html.

The interview subjects in the four broadcasts are:
1. Elena Poniatowska
2. Paco Ignacio Taibo II
3. Juan Villoro and Jorge Volpi
4. Carmen Boullosa, Guillermo Arriaga

While the program does not treat translation per se, there is an implicit translational issue at play when a literature of one particular language and culture is discussed for an audience of another language who for the most part can access the original only in translation. Non-Spanish-speaking Prozians, this is a chance for you to get acquainted with a selection of contemporary Mexican literary creators.

Also of interest is an article by the show's host about her visit to Mexico City: "Eleanor Wachtel on visiting Mexico City for her new series on the country’s writers and film-makers".
