Excellent choice and quite a coincidence...I once almost decided to write my doctoral thesis on the Master and Margarita.

Excellent example of a Menippian satire.

You should consider reading \'Heart of a Dog\' as well.


Ellendea Proffer of Ardis ought to be able to tell you a few things about Bulgakov.

Do you know that Bulgakov went blind at the end of his life and that he dictated part of his M&M?

I shouldn\'t recommend the English translation to anyone, though. It falls so far behind the original, and occasionally it\'s completely out of line.
