Will MemoQ handle a TTX file glued by SDL Trados Glue alright?

I don't want to work with one hundred tabs in MemoQ, I prefer one.

Also, if there are locked segments in the TTX files, will the locks be respected in MemoQ?

Will appreciate your help.

Regards,

Piotr

No need... Aug 18, 2011

You don't have to glue anything (Trados Glue is absolutely unreliable)... Just import all the files and gather them in one view.

As for the locked segments, I am not sure what you mean - TagEditor does not have segment locking... Or do you mean XTranslate sections?

And, Yes I meant those Xtranslated "Perfect" matches.

I am not sure, I've never dealt with those in MQ...

If they show up with different match percentage (100? 101?), you can filter them and lock in MQ as well.

I can see they are locked in MemoQ too.

What worries me about the unified view is that it appears to show different progress percentage, and the percentages of documents in the document list are not updated/different.

I saw this in two projects where I created unified views yesterday.

Piotr

Join/Split Aug 19, 2011

AFAIK, you cannot join/split segments when translating a "view". When all files without a filter is selected, MemoQ should be able to create a DVX-like view.

I am wary of that from other CAT tools. What I was asking about is different statistics in the View and in the individual documents list.

This is by design - I don't like it either. The percentages for individual files are not updated automatically, you need to select the files and press "Refresh".
