Do you know a way to filter out a single letter from an XML when importing it into memoQ?

A redundant letter 'a' appears as a segment on it's own and I don't wish to see it there at all.
There are four other letters like that (t, p, i, e only) which appear in the source XML as if translatable.

Can I filter those out somehow? Where and what should I do to make it work?

Any help would be appreciated.
