Dear all,

I was wondering if memoQ 6.2 also offers a server solution like Studio (GroupShare) where users can share Translation Memories, Termbases and projects?

Kind regards,

Els

Not yet May 3, 2013

Hi,

I think the answer is "not yet". For the moment being one of the team members would have to have a MemoQ Server license, which is rather pricey and mainly (but not only) used by agencies. I'm quite sure that the folks at Kilgray are working on something in this regard though, as they ran a poll quite recently to get an idea how much extra their users would be willing to pay for the possibility to share resources with colleagues. How does SDL GroupShare work by the way? Do you pay a monthly subscription fee to be able to share resources?

Well it's exactly the same with GroupShare, translators with regular licenses connect to an expensive server... so I don't quite understand why you say "not yet".

The answer is yes.

I stand corrected May 4, 2013

Hi,

you're right, I should have done some more research before answering. For some reason I thought GroupShare was something in the lines of Wordfast Anywhere or the team project feature in OmegaT (with a subscription fee rather than for free).
Instead it appears to be somewhat comparable to MemoQ ServerFive, with Project Manager licences etc.
