Error: Attribute "lang" of tag "span" is translatable but contains direct text

This is a transit package I am translating in MemoQ 6.5.19. I get this error message from time to time and the only way it will go away is if I delete ALL of the tags in the target.

I'm not sure why this is happening. The tags are left exactly as they appear in the source text, I haven't changed anything, and I still get an error message.

I don't want to have trouble exporting later and I don't want to delete all of the tags, because this will likely pose a problem for the client.

Also - because this is a transit package, I can't export stored path nor is a view produced so I can see how the document is affected by deleting tags.

Does anyone know what these errors mean and why they are being produced?

Thank you!

Import settings? Mar 15, 2014

Hi Tiffany,

I don't have direct experience with these packages, but MemoQ should be able to handle them out of the box. What does happen at times is that using the wrong import settings sometimes causes problems, especially with tags.

To make sure you have imported the files correctly, please check out these resources:

If that doesn't bring a solution, I think it would be best to talk to Kilgray support directly.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Steven Mar 20, 2014

Thank you for the information. It didn't really solve my particular problem (there ended up being no problem on exporting, to my surprise), but your second link really helped me figure out how to deal with term bases from transit files, which I very much appreciate right now, so thanks!
