Importing Empty Source Segments

I'm trying to import an SDLXLIFF file created by TRADOS from a Microsoft Word file that contains large amounts of tracked changes. Some of these tracked changes are deletions that cover the length of the segments.

When viewed in TRADOS, these "deleted" segment(s) are visible with the text displaying with a strike-through line.

However, when I try to import the SDLXLIFF into MemoQ, I get the error message "Empty source sections are not allowed." MemoQ apparently sees these segments as empty even though they display in TRADOS with the correct text and strike-throughs.

Is there any way to override MemoQ's empty source segment restriction so that I can at least translate the non-deleted text and then finish the "deleted" ones in TRADOS?

Thanks
