Hi everybody,

I’m using MemoQ 2015 to work on sdlxliff files. Those files contain some segments which status is XLT and are marked with a double green checkmark (marked as "Reviewer2 confirmed"). Such segments are locked and cannot be edited. When I double click on their double green checkmark nothing happens.

The only workout I could find is to export such files, open them in Trados Studio 2011, make edits as appropriate, save the file, and reimport it back to MemoQ.

I’m sure there is a shorter and simpler route to do so.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestion.

Cheers.

Patrick

Can't you unlock them? Nov 21, 2015

Filter all locked segments
Ctrl+Shift+A (select all segments as filtered)
Ctrl+Shift+L

Not properly locked but uneditable Nov 21, 2015

Hi Stepan,

Thanks for your help but those XLT segments are not locked with a padlock icon. They are uneditable because they have been reviewed and accepted by Reviewer2 and no further changes are allowed (double green checkmark). However I often need to edit them for improvement.

I still do not know how to do so.

Again my only workaround is to export the sdlxliff file from MemoQ, next reopen it in Trados Studio 2011 and adit those segments there, next save the file and reimport them into MemoQ.

I would like to be able to edit those segments within MemoQ without the hassle to use the Trados Studio 2011 route.

Any advice would be welcome.

Cheers.

Patrick

Ah, got it now... Nov 21, 2015

1. Go to Project home tab
2. Click Settings
3. Check yourself as a proofreader (Confirm using status: Proofread)

Then you can remove status from such double-tick segments by Nov 21, 2015

going to Operations - Change Segment Status - Only rows with the following status - tick Proofread - New status Edited - OK

As a result, you will get all such double-tick (proofread) segments as edited (not confirmed with green double tick) segments.

Then you can go back to Project home tab, Settings, and select 'Confirm' back (instead of 'Proofread') to confirm segments as a translator. Or continue confirming segments as a proofreader. (Most probably you would need the former scenario.)

Thank you so much, Stepan. Done. It works fine.

Note: The actual wording I just used is "Confirm using status: Reviewer 2". But it works.
