Hi everyone,

I am still strugelling with this interesting difference in analysis difference in memoQ 2015 vs Trados Studio 2015

Source:
My father has 5 horses.
My father has 6 horses.

memoQ analysis (no homogeneity):

10 No match
0 Repetitions

Trados analysis (No internal fuzzy match leverage):
5 No match
5 Repetitions

Can anyone explain why there is such a difference and if there is a workaround to this? I also tried using a Regex tagger for the numbers but it then still show it has 8 words (no match) to translate in memoQ.

Kind regards,
Peter

My take:

Numbers are viewed as "placeables" by Trados: if only numbers change in a sentence, Trados says it is the same sentence (who cares about plural and singular anyway).

Certainly MemoQ can do that too, there must be a tick box (categorised as discount tick boxes like homogeneity or internal fuzzying) to this end somewhere in TM settings or penalties or autosomething.

Philippe
