Is there such a function in Memoq? If so, could you tell me how?

Hi Halit,
You can get even more answers if you explain what you mean by 'unknown segments'.

Hello Stepan,

Thank you for your post.

In Trados, there is an option where you can export the segments which are not in the TM and work on them or just send them to a translator without losing the repetitions.

It is when you are analyzing in Trados, there is an option with "Export Unknown Segments" option.

Here is the description and link:

""Unknown Segments
Export Unknown Segments
When this option is selected, the analysis process copies all segments for which there is no translation memory match to an XLIFF file for translation. A separate XLIFF file is produced for every language pair. The XLIFF files are placed in the project's Exports folder.
The XLIFF files can be translated and the translation units added to the translation memories before work begins on other project tasks.""

Sort by length (memoQ 2013) Dec 16, 2015

I am not sure about later versions, but in memoQ 2013 it works this way:

1. Sort segments by "Target text length (shorter first)"
2. Scroll down to find the nearest target segment containing any text
3. Select it, press and hold Shift, find the last segment and click it. This will give you a selection of all segments that contain any text in their target part (if 'known' is what you mean).
4. Lock the selection by Ctrl+Shift+L.
5. Export to rtf with the 'Include locked segments' box unchecked.

A shorter way: Dec 16, 2015

1. Pre-translate a file with 'Any match' option
2. Create view using 'Only rows that are... Not started'.
