Good morning all,
ProZ.com Jobs/BB moderators have been alerted to a situation which may require extra caution.

An outsourcer contacts translators offering (more or less) permanent work ahead. At the same time, the outsourcer offers to sell translation software at a discounted price, to be paid in advance. Contact details provided are sketchy at best.

There is no concrete evidence of anything improper; however, the combination of incomplete contact details and the offer to purchase software at a discount (albeit against upfront payment) is cause for some concern.

If anyone has received such a message directly (that is, not forwarded through a mailing or distribution list), kindly contact a Jobs/BB moderator.

Best regards,
Ralf
