Hello all,

Recently I was asked to give a quote for translation of audio material per minute. It is not voice over but namely (written) translation of audio file into Russian.

I have never preformed this kind of job and therefore have no idea of rates per audio minute.
I was trying to make some calculations based on average wordcount in the minute of audio. Does anybody have information on the average wordcount in a minute of English audio file? I realize it would be different number in each particular case.

And is this method generally appropriate for calculating of rate or the rates are formed in some other way in this industry?

Generally I would appreciate if someone can tell me “standard” rates in the industry for (written) translation of audio file from English into Russian or Ukrainian per minute.

Thank you.
