Does anybody use IKobo for money transfers? How do you like the service?

I'm a little disturbed at how it works... May 2, 2004

The other day I found out in a live chat with the Ikobo folks that if I want to pay my subcontractors using I-Kobo and they are not already members, then not only do I have to pay the 4% fee on the money I send, but I (the sender of the money) am also responsible for the fees to send the recipient the card-- $20!

Meanwhile, the recipient of the money only pays like $1.50 each time he wants to take the money out.

So, if I want to send $500 to a translator in Portugal who doesn't yet have an account with Ikobo, for example, it's $20 in fees, and $20 for the card. I pay $40 for the transfer, and the guy in Portugal only pays $1.50.

While I'm all for convenience, sounds a little bit like the burden would all fall on me.
