Moneybookers Home page! May 28, 2009

Hi Adedamola,

Go through the registration process via this link https://www.moneybookers.com/app/register.pl

You have to select your Country of residence within the registration process which consists of 4 steps as follows:
1/ Account type
2/ Email Verification
3/ Personal details
4/ Confirmation

You should fill in the registration forms carefully for avoiding any future discrepancies between your bank account details and your Moneybookers' profile details. Your details must be identical in your Bank account profile and your moneybookers' profile specially
the full name, Address, zip code

Black list of countries May 28, 2009

Moneybookers services work for every country besides: Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, Myanmar, Nigeria, North Korea, Sudan. It is their policy not to accept registrations from those countries.

I don't know the exact reasons and I think they differ depending on a particular country but I can suppose that in case of Nigeria it is the high level of fraudulence taking place in your country. I think you've heard about infamous Nigerian Letter (also called the 419 fraud, Nigerian scam, Nigerian bank scam, or Nigerian money offer - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advance_fee_fraud ).

Please pardon me, I think you have encountered this problem because Nigeria is within Financial Action Task Force (FATF) list of "Non-Cooperative Countries or Territories" (NCCTs) in respect of money laundry issues.

Please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FATF_Blacklist

Note: Not all countries you shall see via the link above are blocked by moneybookers so better to ask moneybookers about the reason, if necessary.

Kind regards
