Hello Everyone,

I have a client that pays by characters. That's fine and dandy, but I have a problem calculating the invoice. Does anyone have a solution for getting the character count across several documents without recounting repetitions (just the 100% matches, not fuzzies)? I use AnyCount, which is great for raw counts, and Trados is great for the word counts when you need to discount the matches, but I can't get both numbers from the same program.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

SaludoZ to you all!

Trados Nov 7, 2009

Trados Analysis report gives you all the figures you need:

No Match 135 1,387 96 1
Total 156 1,450 100 3

Chars/Word 5.39
Chars Total 7,817

(Total words) X (average characters per word) = total characters
1450 X 5.39 = 7815.5 characters
