supposedly Visa May 27, 2010

I read in one forum, that it can supposedly be done with Visa. But in Slovenia it also depends on the Bank which issued the card.

An alternative would be, that you just use the money to buy things via internet from suppliers who accept PayPal payments.

Ways to receive payments through PayPal May 27, 2010

1. If you are allowed to have a bank account in foreign currency it is possible to have the payments transferred to such account. You probably sell the foreign currencey to the bank at withdrawal and get paid in the currency of your country.
2. Acquire a Visa Card and have PayPal transfer the money to the Visa account. I think there is a limit (maybe $ 1,000 each time). Then you simply pay your expenses with the Visa Card .

That is not an option in some countries.

VISA May 28, 2010

I have the money credited to my VISA and use it to pay with the card, depending on the type of card you have you can also get cash from an ATM (for a fee, of course) or at the bank that issued you the card. Still, you should check with whoever issued your card in your country and find out not only what you can do, but also the fees charged.

Good luck!

VISA May 28, 2010

To Rehab: I doubt that you could use VISA card for PayPal if this Visa is connected with your local bank account. Your account for VISA should be in the country approved by PayPal, such as USA etc. Having such an account, you can receive the payments via PayPal and cash them by VISA. However, it would be interesting to know what they answer to you about VISA card?

PayPal May 28, 2010

Guys, if you live in a non-approved country, no client will even be able to send you money to PayPal.
I tried this with US$50, thinking that I will gladly use this money to buy some music or books on Amazon, but the client said that PayPal did not let it send the money.
So we used MB.

You can open a 2Checkout account that will act as a intermediary, accepting Paypal payments from the clients and transferring the money to you by other means.

@Natalia: there is a discussion in Russian here.

Thank you, I know about 2Checkout. I am still thinking on whether I need a personal site, or not. Or maybe I will even get back to office work.

I just wanted to warn other people who think that they will be able to at least receive money to PayPal.

If certain preparations are made in advance everyone can receive money via PayPal

Panama is not sep up to receive money thru PayPal May 30, 2010

We had to open a bank account in the U.S., because my bank in Panama lets us send money thru PayPal, but is not set up to receive it. But PayPal is not free, so remember to add your expenses before giving a quote. I begin to translate as soon as I get notice that payment has been deposited in my PayPal account.
I do not know if my bank will ever resolve this issue with PayPal, but for the time being I have to depend on my husband who happens to be a U.S. citizen residing in Panama.
