Hi everyone

After working in Germany for three years, I am thinking of moving back to the UK in June to work as a freelancer. As this will mean I will have spent less than 180 days resident in Germany this year, does this mean I can pay UK tax rather than German tax on my freelance income this year, or does it depend on where you have spent the preceding 2-3 years?

If this question has been asked before, maybe someone can direct me to the previous answer.

...would be my advice, given the fundamental differences between Germany and the UK as far as income tax is concerned.

Best regards, Ralf
