I wonder if someone could give me an idea of the going rate per word for translations in euros (Europe-based translation agencies). I've worked with a couple of French agencies so far and they seem to pay pretty decent rates. I'm not so sure I could approach other agencies in Europe at the same rate. When I asked a family member what they charge in euros, I was a bit surprised to find it was quite a bit lower than my sterling rate, so I thought a few alternative views could come in handy.
Please note I'm translating from French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese into English. I would imagine the French-based agencies possibly pay a bit more than Spanish, Italian and Portuguese ones, but I'm really rather unsure.
I'd be really grateful for any ideas about reasonable translation and proofing rates in euros.
