A very well-known Italian agency has just posted a job offering €0.00 EUR to €0.01 EUR estimated per word. Is any comment necessary?

Perhaps it's only a typo and should read: € 0.10 - € 0.11 per word. Never give up hope.

It must be a joke probably... It is amazing how "low" this industry got. And sad.

I just laughed as soon as I saw the title. I'm wondering if they've had any takers....?

I would rather respond with irony... like "I would love to be your slave. Also take away my house, belongings, my clients I give everything... Just, please give me the job. "

I think it should be made clear that this is a revision job, which doesn't mean I am excusing it! Interestingly, the agency concerned has a lengthy and overwhelmingly favourable Blueboard record.

The amazing thing is that this is one of the best-known agencies in Italy and I know lots of people work for them, including Proz members ! As for it being a revision job, we've already had many discussions about how a so-called "revision" job, if done properly, is actually full translation. And as for overwhelmingly favourable BB records, no comment.............. ............. ......

Best wishes, M Sorry but I can't post the actual offer since by doing so I think I would be breaching site rules. It was an offer of an Italian-English job. Maybe you didn't receive it because you don't meet the particular criteria.

Come on, they simply forgot to mention that it's a pro-bono job for a non-profit organization. They're just trying to appeal to your good nature.
I can't seem to see the offer because I do not comply with their criteria. I was thinking of creating a website with companies that offer ridiculous rates; though this could be applied to so many other jobs, once I found this offer that looked for a journalist but said that they had to budget to pay them... right!
