New record: EN-ES translation job (from India) for which they intend to pay 0,0075 USD per word. Most probably not a typo. Given that he specifically bothered to state twice the amount that he was willing to pay and it was ridiculous. Edited to erase any info that might lead people to see an already PUBLIC job post. That is, should those outsourcers really be so protected? Specially since the job posts are visible by anyone accessing Proz... I thought this was a site for translators, not for slavers...

that many colleagues charge the same rates for translating and editing/reviewing MT or somebody else's work (probably someone who worked for 0.0075$). I think this is a good approach, only in this way the agencies or "the agencies" will realize that this type of "doing business" does not pay off. | |
