This may seem like a rudimentary question to some, but if a client sends a TM/file and there are a certain number of matches/repetitions what is the best way to account for this during invoicing? Is there a standard formula or method for calculating? Please advise.

Thanks!

Robert

I presume you already know what the percentages are. I can think of two ways to present this, namely as amount percentages and as "word" percentages (i.e. weighted words).

In the first method, your invoice will contain the actual word count in column 1, the discount percentage in column 2, and the discounted amount in column 3. In the weighted word method, column 1 will contain the actual word count, the discount percentage in column 2, and the discounted word count (known as the weighted word count) in column 3.

The advantage of the second method is that when you show the final calculation, it is a simple calculation: the total number of weighted words multiplied by the normal per-word rate.
