Check from USA paid in Mexico

Hi,
I have a question for Mexican translators. I am working on a USA translation, the agency says that they only pay by check, this is the first time I will be paid this way. Can someone tell me how can I cash the USA check in Mexico, or if Banks receive deposits made with a foreign check?

Yo cambio esos cheques en una casa de cambio. El tipo de cambio que dan no es el mejor, pero tienes el dinero en efectivo o depositado a tu cuenta de cheques de inmediato.

Los bancos toman un mes o más en acreditar el dinero a tu cuenta de cheques.

Visita varias casas de cambio para que obtengas el mejor tipo de cambio, o la mejor comisión.
