Hello, everyone, I have to write my VAT ID in an agreement but I'm not from Europe, I'm from Argentina, so I don't know if I have to write my CUIT number instead or if I don't fill it. Thanks.

Yes... most of the time Jul 4, 2014

In the contracts I have signed so far, I was always asked my company registration ID o something like that, which in my case means my CUIT number (BTW, I live in Argentina too). I think there should no problem if you do the same in your situation, but if you aren't sure, maybe you should post this question in the Translation in Argentina forum in Proz.

No need Jul 4, 2014

If you are not in Europe then there is no need for you to include a number as it has no use. If you were in Europe they would need it for VAT purpose but as you are not in Europe VAT does not apply to you so there is no need.

I thought I have to write an equivalent to a VAT ID. Thanks.

You can if you want to but like I say there should be no legal need to do so. I live in Europe and have to keep track of VAT IDs for all my European clients but there is no need to do so for my non-European clients as the tax authorities don't need them.
