How do you calculate per word, per hour ?
Do you charge according to the complexity of the task?

per source word Feb 17, 2005

I charge per source word for proofreading/ editing: 1/3 of my translation rate.
I agree that this sometimes is a rip off, other times (when the text is good quality) it is quite well paid, but with the clients I have I've found it very difficult to have them agree with me on the number of hours needed to revise a text, therefore, to avoid time-consuming discussions...
