Rate-based specialized translations Jan 26, 2017

There was a time when translators would charge more for a complex software manual than for a contract. I believe those days are past.

I am also wondering if were aren't actually doing ourselves a disservice by lowering or increasing our rates based on how the specialized text. There are some innocent-looking lists of parts, for example, that are devilishly more complicated to translate than software help files. I speak from experience, naturally.
