Is there a going rate for converting UK to US English?

Quote by the hour for adaptation at your normal hourly rate - that will depend on where you are based, where your customer is based etc - but you obviously have a target that you need to earn per hour to make any project viable for you.

Some customers will then negotiate a maximum number of hours they are prepared to pay, based thereon, in advance. Make sure this ceiling gives you enough time to complete the job.

Also a good base to start from is your proofreading rates, as you have to read and correct the style of the whole document.
