Dear all, how are the usual rates for dubbing, and just dubbing, texts? The texts are already translated and I just need to dub them... Thank you all for the help, Bárbara

Charge by the hour Dec 14, 2006

Hello dear Barbara

I do not offer dubbing services, but I guess I would charge by the hour.

It would depend on the conditions set by your client as well. Certain software, turnaround time ....
level of difficulty much like translations I guess.

If you type in dubbing at the proZ.com search box you will find a lot of info regarding this subject.

I also provided you with a link which is maybe helpful to you.

I just need to dub them... Dec 14, 2006

Hi there.
You just need to dub them?

Do you know how to do that? (Dubbing is almost an art. You almost be an actor to do it)

What kind of dubbing: a motion picture with actor (lips synch), voice over, a documentary? To what language, how long is it, is it commercial?

You need to give us some more information, though.

What is meant... Dec 15, 2006

is actually only the reading out the text. The agency provides the tecnology and takes care of that part, the texts are for language training material and they couldn't really say how much text there is to read, only that they usually work for 2/3 days on these projects. I have to read the texts in my mothertongue, Portuguese. Hope this helps. Thanks, Bárbara

Sky is the limit Dec 16, 2006

I used to work as a project co-ordinator in a translation agency. The rates depend on voice over artists. Rates varied from 30 pounds per hour till 200 pounds per hour.

If you deliver edited and proofed file to the client the rate is obviously higher.

Good luck!

Wojtek
