My attention has been drawn to the recently established trade union for translators in the UK, 'The National Union of Professional Translators and Interpreters' (NUPIT).

Just in case anyone is interested, here's the link.

Kind regards,

How recently was it established? I wrote a dissertation 2 years ago and it existed then. The subject of my work discussed the visibility/invisibility of the translator - and i seem to remember one of the points i made was the fact that this union exists, but no-one I had spoken to had ever heard of it!

Just a comment...!

* How long has NUPIT been in operation?
We have been in business properly since the beginning of 2001.
