I have a customer who sent me a file with the Trados analysis. The word count was about 7% less than the count in WordFast and Word 2000. What experience have others had regarding this?

I'm wondering about the same Sep 8, 2008

I'm finding the same pattern even with Trados 2007 and Word 2007 .... The counts are substantially different for larger files. Any ideas?

Different word count ! Sep 8, 2008

I think the reason may be that, word counts every possible character where the MT’s must be eliminating other aspects of the content; like tags and formations.
