Hi there,

I have been trying to submit my website to the open directory project for weeks now - but I always get an error message when hitting the submit button at the bottom of the form: 500 Internal Server.

I already contacted the webmasters at DMOZ, but I think they may have other things to do than to answer my email.

Has anyone else experienced problems with DMOZ lately?

Regards,

Sonja

Difficult to resolve your problem Jun 2, 2003

What category you wish to submit to? Its hard to tell without really trying the same as you. I'm one of the editors, but hardly of your cat.
Have you tried other browsers/computers?

Hello Heinrich,

I have actually tried to submit my page with two different browsers (Opera and IE5).

I have been to other forums, too, and found out that there seems to be a problem at DMOZ itself... I suppose, I just have to try again.

Thanks and regards,

Sonja

ther's an upgrade in progress Jun 3, 2003

Yes, the problem ist known within the editor community. Its probably due to the ongoing update. So you should wait for a week or two befor trying again. People there seem too busy anywhere to process new submissions at the moment.

I do SEO for a living next to translation and I havent been able to submit sites to different categories of Dmoz.org for a while... this is quite a problem. Besides, Google hasn't updated in months...
